Trampoline wear and tear

Post by David West »

My PDQ 36 ten years old now. About five years ago I had the stitching on the trampoline renewed. Now the canvas strip and taping around the grommets is looking a bit ratty though the mesh forming the main substance of the trampoline appears fairly good. Can anyone tell me if it is reasonable to just replace the surround or is time I replaced the whole lot? If so, does anyone know where I could purchase an new trampoline?

Refurb your old ones, call Mac at:

South Sails
101 Central Road
Indian Harbour Beach, FL 32937

Mac restitched my jib and sacrificial cover for around $100. While I was there he showed me his trampoline operation and he can repair them cheaply or build custom. In fact, he talked me out of buying new and said he can repair most tramps very inexpensively. I was very impressed.

Repair or Replace?

Post by 36041 »

David,

We had the same problem on 36041, but our original trampoline was the all nylon webbing style. We restitched several times, but eventually we decided to bite the bullet and buy a new one.

We got ours from Sunrise mentioned in the posting above and now 6 years later, it's almost as good as it was new. The replacement trampoline is some sort of plastic dipped tight weave netting with small 1/4" holes. I remember the cost being around 500 dollars or so, but the quality of this tramp over the webbing mesh thing that we had previously is night and day different.

My two cents - go with the new replacement.
