Stern Extensions

Post by samtheskull »

After 2 seasons cruising our stern extensions have proved to be a success. They have made the boat faster, allowed us to carry a heavy dinghy and outboard with the minimum of hobby horsing and access to and from the boat is so easy just like a dinghy dock.
This was a fairly easy project that did not compromise the integrity of the hulls and there was no rigging issues.Sam The Skull is stored at Titusville Florida.

Having seen Jon's extensions up close I can verify that they are extremely well done and have a much better integrated look than the others I've seen. Now if we can only get Jon to set up shop and start cranking these out. I volunteer to let you practice on Dream Catcher first .......

That's what I was wondering. Would the moulds even fit properly?

As I have time on my hands all summer I would be happy to share the details of the stern extensions project.

These extensions were built as part of the boat and not a bolt on piece.

You tricked me, Dave. I thought "A PDQ just crossed the Pacific?" and clicked your link. :)

PS: The anchoring episode you described in your last post sounded exciting!
