FL, GA, SC I need to measure Shrouds to replace missing rig

Post by Kitehawaii »

Hi,
I'm getting ready to put a new mast on my PDQ 36 Hull #25. I would really appreciate it if an owner in the Florida, Georgia or SC area would let me come aboard and get exact measurements for the shrouds. The did not come with a Mast or Rigging to work from. I have exhausted all resources with no luck. I have come to the realization that this is the only way to affordably be able to order parts for delivery and installation.

I will be available beginning May 15th to drive to your boat and take measurements. It will require going up the mast. I can help with anything that needs to be done while up there.

Thanks in advance for any assistance.

K

Also looking for a Gooseneck if anyone knows where one might be for the boom.

I think the measurements are in the owners manual which can be downloaded from www.pdq36.com

I wish it were that simple. I looked in the manual and did not locate shroud lengths in the measurements section. If you have a manual that has it please post it in this thread. I would need the mast height and where the shrouds connect at the mast as well so may be better to measure a boat.

Thanks,

Check with Rick Zern Rigging in pensacola 850.261.4129
He replaced the mast, and all the Standing rigging on wake up ( 1998 PDQ 36 ) in 2005. We got the details from PDQ and ordered a new OEM package. With a bit of luck he will be able to find the file on the boat. If he cant find it, message me back i kept the old shrouds and the bridle for spares but its in storage so may take a few days to dig them out.

Hi,

Rick's number has a full mailbox. Will keep trying to reach him.

I am interested in getting your old shrouds if you don't mind parting with them. This would help out tremendously in keeping the cost lower. It's just to get the mast up then get the whole project re-rigged after testing the new/used mast.

Do you have a close up picture of the goose neck? I'm looking for a part number on that as well.

Thanks,

K

Thanks very much for that. All this in an effort to recreate the rig. Never dreamed it would be this difficult.

Non of the riggers even want to consider it without the details worked out.

Hey Kitehawii,

Have you looked into ordering the mast and standing rigging from Selden Mast. They are located in the Charleston area and have supplied a lot of the rigs aboard PDQ's. Tom Sharky is a great contact there and should still have all the original spec's on hand.
Hope this helps.
