Bimini Dome Light Wiring

Post by NautiBits »

There are red, green, and gray wires in the harness that feed the dome lights in the hardtop bimini. Are there schematics for this? Mine was probably the standard PDQ install. The wires may have been chopped at the control panel. There is a red and gray wire cut and folded back on themselves in the panel. All the wire labels have washed out. Makes troubleshooting more fun!!

Got the lights working.

I mistakenly thought all the wires entering a busbar, located on the back of the helm bulkhead, from the starboard side were hot coming from the main panel. This wire was feeding the bimini lights. I think there was a wire spliced into the old solar controller positive battery wire that fed that wire at the buss. I cleaned that up and put the bimini light circuit on an unused panel switch.

Looks good and mama loves it.

Progress!

I just got my new LED anchor and steaming lights! Gonna get lit this weekend!

Whooo-ahhhhh!
