hi,
i guess i'd ask you a couple of questions: 1) where do you cruise 2) anchor out vs dock 3) free wifi available 4) do you have ssb. depending on your answers you might get different answers.
we landed on cellphone. in the us because that's how we get it when not on the boat. in the bahamas it's because there are cell towers everywhere we want to go and we don't have ssb.

We've used this little Sony SSB Reciever for 12 years to listen to Chris Parker with great success:

If you're just listening in to the regional (ie Bahamas Central, Bahamas South, etc) broadcasts, it's free and once you've practiced with the radio it's easy to pick up. The hardest part of getting the weather from Chris is waking up on time for his broadcast. (6:30 am for the Bahamas on 4045)
