Noticed the Starboard far aft chock has a hairline crack coming off the bolt area of this chock. The crack is on the fiberglass ledge just above the aft steps. Looked under the lip and noticed it is bolted thru but I don't see any backing plates on these. This may be a winter project but wondered if anyone else has discovered any cracks near the chocks or any solutions
I would think that a backing plate would help prevent any load from causing the stress on the glass. Any comments appreciated.

Small cracks around the aft chock.
Sandy,
Have had a similar crack and it turned out to be only in the gelcoat. James Powers fixed it when he visited us in FL last Feb and we haven't seen any evidence of it recurring. James explained that it was a case of the gelcoat being too thick in that area. Just make sure there isn't more (deeper) cracking, and if there isn't, don't worry about it until you can repair the gelcoat.
