Seacocks

Post by Spoff4 »

Anyone know what manufacturer supplied the seacocks on the power cat? (Surveyor stepped on one of the valve handles and broke it off.)
Thanks.

They are marelon fittings made by forespar and the handles can be special ordered. Swapping out while in water is possible with care. James

In another life time I broke a nipple, male threaded to a barb, on a forepsar thru hull (it was the engine cooling raw water supply). I called forespar, a So Cal company. The brought me a replacement to the dock while on a trip to Catalina. They insisted it would be impossible to break one of their nipples which was made from the same material as the valve body. We discovered that the builder of the boat TPI/J-Boats had used a PVC nipple versus the Forespar. The Forespar rep commented how cheap J-Boats could be. How come you are having to solve this problem and not the so called expert, the surveyor.
