Installing a new sonar/fishfinder

I have a 2003 MV 34 hull #029. Looking for suggestions on where in the starboard hull to install a sonar transducer for a cable run up to the flybridge. I'll keep the original Raymarine depthfinder in the port hull and add the new chartplotter/sonar combo unit (Humminbird or Lowrance - - not sure yet) to give me a good visual of the bottom.
It sounds like the transducer can either be a thru-hull or an on-hull unit, as long as the hull is solid fiberglass with no core or air spaces. I'd rather not put another hole in the hull. Humminbird has a quad-band transducer that gives several frequencies/options for viewing fish and bottom details. I'm away from the boat until November, but I'm thinking of using epoxy and an on-hull unit installed under the floor in the head where there are other thru-hulls. Any thoughts or suggestions are appreciated.
