replacement courtesy lights

Post by nocall »

Two of the three courtesy lights on our MV34 have failed and ABI, the source listed in the owners manual, has apparently gone out of business. Does anyone know where to obtain a no-new-holes replacement for these?

I presume you are considering the 'droopy eyelid' style courtesy lights inside. I long since found wonderful red LED replacements (no new holes), although I can't recall precisely the model/stock numbers. Reply if you need specifics.

West Marine has a light that will fit exactly, a little brighter, not much..

I ended up replacing all three of them with red LED lights. Naturally the holes had to be enlarged very slightly for the new lights to fit so it was a typical boat project: a one hour job that takes all day. They are a bit brighter but look really good.

You will save on electric consumption, have more light and they don't heat up nearly as much. Win, win, win.
