LED bulbs for ceiling lights
LED bulbs for ceiling lights
I have wanted to convert the bulbs in the ceiling fixtures to LEDs but haven't because of the expense. I bought one of the G4 side pin bulbs from West Marine for about $20.00. It was 1.2" in diameter and really had to be squeezed into the fixture. That wasn't good. I found 3/4" diameter LED bulbs at http://www.LilyLEDs.com for $6.80. They work great and are just as bright as the halogens. See photos.

Do you have a part # or SKU, might want to do the same! Thx for the research.

They are listed as "G4 LED (Small) - 2 Watt - 12 x 3528 LEDs" and are the 7th bulb down on their G4 section of the website www.LilyLEDs.com.

No they are not on a dimmer. They are switched from the standard PDQ rocker switches.

Re: LED bulbs for ceiling lights
On my boat ALL the ceiling fixtures which are the salon, galley , head/stateroom walkway are on dimmers so I need to follow up with your vendor to see if they are dimmable.

Re: LED bulbs for ceiling lights
An interesting note about being "dimmable" I took a chance on some ebay import leds ( $15 for a quantity of 10 delivered). They have worked fine for a year now with one quirk, they will not turn off completely. We also have the dimming system and when switched off the leds glow faintly. The breaker will kill them if needed. Hasn't caused any complaints from our guests, so I am a satisfied customer.

The LilyLEDs.com website shows that the bulbs that I bought are indeed dimmable. Nice!
