Hello group,

Can anyone tell me the Jabsco profile and number for the impeller on the 75hp motors. Some how I don't have it in my paperwork. The boat is far away but I'm going to it soon.

Thanks,

hi james,

this is the part number i have 129670-42531. this impeller has a threaded hub and you'll want to get puller 129671-92110.

Thanks John for the reply. That part number is for the Yanmar brand impeller. There is also a Jabsco brand impeller that works also, however, it doesn't have the threaded hub, so it is a lot more difficult to change out. Perhaps the effort, price savings ratio is not worth it.

The last time I had my impellers changed, the mechanic had to pull them with a conventional impeller puller tool - actually a very cool, long hose gripping pliers. They were the Yanmar brand impellers, however, the previous installer had put them in backwards so the threaded hub was negated, though they worked just fine for a long time.

If I figure out the Jabsco part number, I'll post it.

All for now.

hi james,

jabsco makes the threaded impeller also. i have to think that yanmar gets them from jabsco/johnson.

"Globe Run-Dry Model 616 Impeller for Jabsco 3085-0001P & Yanmar 129470-42530". it would appear that the jabsco # is 3085-0001P.

Ok John, now I'm really confused. My Sarasota area mechanic/Yanmar dealer sold me some Yanmar impellers ending in -42531. Your recent post for the Yanmar brand impellers part number ends in -42530. A typo or on purpose typing?

I DO Really appreciate your help with this - and this forum is a great source of knowledge and experience for our boats.

hi james,

i just looked it up on pump vendor. it was an older listing. 42530/31/32 are all the same size and are all compatible. they are just old --> newer. 30 has no thread. 31 does. i'm not familiar with 32.

sorry for the confusion.

I have the Yanmar 129670-42531 and the Jabsco 3085-0001-P both in my hands as I type. The Jabsco impeller is beefier without the threaded hub and has 10 vanes. The Yanmar is more flexible with a threaded hub and has 12 vanes. I think they should both work fine, however, the threaded hub and the little Yanmar impeller puller should make changing the dang things in the tight confines of the PDQ 34 engine compartment well worth getting the model that has the threaded hub. The O ring for the Yanmar is a separate part number: X0506590-01. The Jabsco came with an O ring. I must confess, I've never changed the things myself and fortunately every time I've paid to have them changed, all of the vanes were in tack.

John, in an earlier post, you were seeking an owners manual. I have a copy at home and one on the boat. The later versions must have had blocking instructions, because mine does not. If you are still seeking a copy let me know. Running it through a copier at a big box office store and putting it in the mail to you is not a big task.

Again, thanks for all of your shared knowledge on this forum.

hi james,

thanks for the offer but if you could just get the blocking diagram that would be great.

as to the impellers, i never actually used the jabsco impeller. i'm actually surprised they are so different.

related to installing the new impeller, i made a "compressor" out of pvc pipe. it lets you compress the whole impeller and then insert it in one smooth motion.

John,

I sent you a private message regarding the blocking diagram. Not sure if you got it. My 2003 owner's manual doesn't have a blocking diagram. Perhaps the later ones do. I've gone by what has been posted on this forum and what Greg Burdick at Stuart Yacht has sent me.

Both the texting phone number and email are still good. I can take a picture of what I have about blocking but it is text only - No Diagram. Send me your email via text or email (I check them often when in cellular tower range) and I'll provide what I have. It is what I've copied from this forum and also what Greg Burdick has sent me personally.

Kind regards,

so after a couple of years use i swapped my first set of impellers with the threaded hubs. the whole process is an order of magnitude easier than with the older impellers. the puller is about $20 but worth its weight in gold.
