There is a LOT of surface to polish on a PDQ! We tried the DIY approach. Killer. We tried different products and bought a West Marine electric buffer. We gave up. It was long, hard work and the result was NOT really that good. Then we tried our local boatyard. They did a "fairly" decent job, but we were not happy with it.
At the Seattle boat show in Feb (2019), we attended a seminar on waxing & polishing boats by the founder of a company named "Marine Detail Specialists" out of Anacortes, WA <http://www.marinedetailspecialists.com/>. We learned a lot about what it takes to get a boat to REALLY shine. We decided to give them a try. We took our boat to their facilty in La Conner, WA (the boat is indoor so the temperature is controlled). 3 days later we picked up the boat. All I can say is WOW! They knocked our socks off. The boat looks spectacular. We are getting compliments. And the price was not out of line with anyone we had tried before. It cost about $3200. It was worth it and we learned a lot about what it takes to maintain the boat's exterior.
