Sliding Door

Post by bjgin »

Door is becoming more difficult to slide. Tried to remove plate on the bottom of the track to service and clean the rollers, but after taking the screws out, it still wouldn't come off. Suggestions on how to do this???

if it's never been off it's probably corroded. i 've has good luck inserting a small screw driver in between the outer cover (removeable) and the actual track. you can get at it at the end under the steps. work it gently and will eventually loosen up.

I got my door off too a couple of years ago. I was able to remove the small screws that hold the protection cover at the bottom and then push UP on the door and then lift the bottom out of the track. I sanded and painted several spots where the white paint had corroded. The process went smoothly as I recall. I also had to rebuild the lock mechanism.

I posted the door rollers part number on the PDQ 36 page a few days ago. While the door is off its a good time to scrub and flush the track, clean the drain holes and lubricate the top locking pin.

All the Antares 44's have the same door ,just a larger size. The later 36's were changed from a bi fold plexiglass door to these as well.

Hi James, what type of grease do you recommend to lubricate the rollers?
How are you doing? Well I hope.

Any marine grade, such as trailer wheel bearing grease works well. Marine over standard grade as it repels water better. Work it into the bearing chase and all should be good.
Doing well, as I hope you are.
