Replace porthole?

Post by AMCarter3 »

Does anyone know a source for getting a replacement porthole? The plastic in our head porthole was scratched pretty badly and we would like to replace it (just the clear plastic).

Hi John, thanks for the suggestion. I didn't see anything on Beckson's site, but I think I found the right source: Bomar SS Flagship Portlights... Not yet sure if this is the right size, but mine looks exactly like this: BOM-SSFlagshipPorts-01

Mac,

I think that is our hatch, they were they are definitely from Bomar. Call Bomar and ask them befor you order. I bought all new gaskets for the portlights and they had very helpful customer service.

No, my outer flange is stainless. Only the lens is plastic. Bomar will get my call today.
Thanks for helping clarify the source.

Well, I learned some things over several phone calls to Pompanette about this: 1) in every phone call the person commented about how overwhelmed they are; 2) they said they had ONE "lens" for the porthole left; 3) that was not true... their inventory system was not accurate -- they do not have any more plastic lenses for the portholes on our boats; and 4) they do NOT plan to place an order for more. They have disignated this part as "obsolete". (They said the supplier requires an order of 500 units),

So, anyone got a spare plastic "lens" for a porthole and is willing to sell it?
