any help would be appreciated.
we have one of our bunk lights out. i'm at a loss to understand how they come out. is it a push and twist, screw in, something else?bunk lights(?)

Your lights are completely different than ours. Ours are goose neck lights. Someone may have the same lights as you and may have the answer.
My thoughts. Looking at the picture, I would first try twisting the lens cover gently which I assume you have already done. Next, you could use a magnifying glass to see if you can see any signs of threads where the lens cover meets the base. I there aren't any threads my next step would be to take the two mounting screws off and see if they are accessed through the rear of the housing.

I changed our original gooseneck wall lamps out for nice little modern "touch" (3 levels) LED lights a few years ago. What a difference. The original lights had 2 screws. The wires obviously come through the wall from inside the battery compartment.
