Original finish on salon woodwork?

Post by AMCarter3 »

Does anyone know what the original finish is on the salon woodwork? Varnish? Lacquer? Polyurethane? We have several flat areas where the thin laminate wood surface I needs to be refinished. Is it possible to lightly sand the laminate surface and coat it with a good quality petroleum based polyurethane (like Zar’s)? If the surface was Lacquer, poly would likely not work.
