Post by lschut » Tue Aug 02, 2005 11:45 am

I am outfitting my MV34 , and plan to install an autopilot, navigation system and radar. Any ideas about equipment and relability?
Also anybody going down to the Florida Keys after the Annapolis show?
We are based in the upper Chesapeake (Still Pond)

if being done by PDQ suggest you stick with Raymarine with whom they have had a long relationship. If not stay with the same manufacturer for all the gear. It will be much more likely to better interface. I have used Raymarine autopilots radar chartplotters and instruments and been quite satisfied. Their new E series plotter is quite nice. Furuo radar is excellent too. See practical sailor and its power equivalent for recent comparision of chart plotters.
