PDQ issues applicable across all PDQ Yachts (or if you can't find a place for something, it probably belongs here for now)

If I am just seriously looking at the PDQ 36, in the process of learning how to sell and intend to purchase my catamaran by December 2012, would I be welcomed?

Not sure about a gathering this year but we did attend in 2010. Although there were a bunch of owners present and we had a good time, we were the only ones to bring our boat along. Here is our PDQ 32 rafted up to Eric and Bonnie's 36:

I only mention that in case you were hoping to go there to see a bunch of PDQs.

Seeing and visiting a PDQ would be nice of course but talking and sharing with owners is the main objective.
Hubby and I have a ton of questions since we want to take a huge plunge.
We are not diving into this new life blindly.

We hosted the last two years. It was fun meeting everyone. We have a wedding in Richmond on that Saturday, but might be able to pull something off around that. Our house we used for the party is rented out, and the other one is 'under construction' as Bonnie has just gutted the first floor. So we may have to find an alternate location. Another person's house, our yacht club, etc. I'll talk with the Schedule Keeper. Hopefully James is coming down for the show.

Save the date: Sunday Oct. 9th after the boat show

Linda and I have been in touch with Eric & Bonnie and we've decided that we can do something at our house in Edgewater - with Monday being a holiday it's not a school night for us. We are located on Selby Bay off the South River, easily accessible by land or water (Edgewater is about 20 minutes from the boat show and Selby Bay is a pretty decent anchorage).

Details to follow as the plan evolves...

If you don't mind, Hubby and I could be there. I'll just need to check with him but I am sure he won't mind.

Cheers!!

Ah... the "usual suspects..."

I've got a call into Jimmy Buffet to support the event (so far he hasn't returned my call... :? )

We have a date, time and location!

Mike and Linda have graciously offered their home for the get-together this year. The plan is Sailboat Show Sunday, starting at 6pm, at 3761 Beach Drive Boulevard, Edgewater, MD.

Feel free to bring a small dish or drink, if you'd like.

If you email me, or Mike, or reply to this post, we can get an idea of the number of folks coming.

Its possible to come by boat, anchor in Selby Bay and dinghy to the beach. If anyone plans on coming by boat, email Mike, or post here and we will get you more details.

It'll be nice to see everyone and catch up. This summer went by too quickly!

I will do my best to attend, visiting friends in Annapolis anyway. Will be nice to get together and talk boats again. Wonderful to have this owner's group - one of the best things about owning a PDQ!

All,

For anyone coming by water Selby Bay is a fairly popular anchorage, it is the second bay on the South side of the South River, Turkey Point forms the East shore of Selby Bay. Most boats will drop the hook on the Selby side of the spit that divides Selby Bay from the South River. Entering the bay you'll need to follow the markers because from the point over it can be shallow.

After entering Selby Bay there are two channels, the anchorage area is to the right. Follow the markers to the Selby Bay marina, it runs across the bay to the West and you can easily access the anchorage from there. Going to the left runs down Turkey Point (access to the Selby Yacht Club, Turkey Pt. fuel docks and marinas, also the Holiday Pt. marina).

If you are coming by boat send either Eric or me a message and we'll make arrangements, looking forward to seeing everyone...
