Is it a 32 or a 34?

PDQ issues applicable across all PDQ Yachts (or if you can't find a place for something, it probably belongs here for now)

Is it a 32 or a 34?

Post by lauraj »

OK...this seems a bit dumb but....the boat we bought has some mixed info as to "official" length.
The registration says 34.5 feet, the hull tag just says 0008J90 (no other numbers), the owner's manual is for a 36.
The sail companies that I have contacted for replacements insist that PDQ did not build a 34' sail boat. Just a 32 or a 36 (34 was power only?)
The boat is too far away for me to go measure the water line.

SO...Is it possible that it is a 34 or does the registration just perpetuate an error.

The early PQDs were infact 34s, The hulls of later models were extended at the stern to improve getting on and off and officially became 36s. The rest of the boat is basically the same so the 36 manual should be what you require. All the best.

Laura,
Do you have steps molded into the sterns? If yes, then you have a 36. If you have to climb a ladder, it is a 34.

shows ladder config on 34

shows steps on 36
