Just a quick note, pics to follow. Spent last Sunday & Monday on North Bimini, tied up at Weech's Marina. Not a great place if you want to sleep on board, due to the 24/7 activity at the Govt dock nearby. Bimini Big Game Marina is closed, as are many of the bars & restaurants in Alice Town. Most of the activity on North Bimini is at the end of the new channel at the very posh Bimini Bay Resort.
At the end of the new channel, just before Bimini Bay, there is a good dredged anchorage with room for at least 4 boats. Its quite well protected and only a couple hundred feet to the Bimini Bay dock (with a grocery store), or shore.
Explored South Bimini by dinghy, and found a place that's not back in the guides yet, the former South Bimini Yacht Club, now the Thirsty Turtle YC. At least 4' all the way in at MLW, we were on a +1/5' tide and never found less than 6'. Very calm water, narrow canals, not much boat traffic, a great bar & restaurant serving breakfast, lunch & dinner. Location approx N25 42.810 W79 17.856 at the end of the canal. They are renovating the hotel rooms now with 3 ready to rent and another 8 more to come. Due to the close proximity of the bar its a little noisy in the evening, but most nights they close by 10pm.
