Heart Interface Voltage Low.

Post by thinwater »

110 volts output when on shore power. Plenty of power up to 20 amps out.

New batteries, so the input 12v side is running 12.5-13v. All connections well cleaned.

The output voltage, on inverter, even at very light load is 100V. My microwave does not like this, though other equipment does not seem to mind. Will carry 15 amp/100v resistance load fine. Maintains 100v.

Thoughts?

My Heart 2000 ('99 vintage) shows under 100 Volts when the Microwave is "on" but not actually running. The way I have the settings, the 'wave's standby mode is not enough to fully turn on the inverter, and sometimes this can cause a problem programming the 'wave. When running it shows about 110 Volts, but I suspect its not putting out quite as much power as when on regular AC juice. The big inverter is only used for the microwave, coffee grinder and the odd power tool. Normally a small inverter is used for the TV, computer, chargers, etc.

Thanks Loki. That gives me some things to check.

I remember those items in the manual, but only glanced at it and it lives on the boat... where I am not. Sounds Like I need to watch it under load and then consider adjustments.
