speed sensor

We have our 32 foot boat (Knotty Cat Hull 48) in salt water and the speed sensor
stops working due to buildup of shells, sea shrimp and other ocean matter. Is
there anything to soak the sensor in to remove this matter other than picking it
out?

The speed sensor kit #33-250 is actually $24.95 not the $50 I quoted

Remove the paddlewheel unit and replace it temporarily with the blanking plug
which should be beside it. Push out the pin holding the paddlewheel with a
needle or very fine screwdriver. Scrape off all the dirt and reassemble. Spare
paddlewheels are available from GEM (843-394-3565) as kit 33-250 for about $50

Make sure that the little arrow is facing forward when you re-insert the
paddlewheel unit

I'm on my third paddlewheel
