Cleaning the trim

We have a boarder around the top of our 32 that is grainy. It gets moldy and
very difficult to clean. Has anyone found an easy product and way to clean it
besides bleach and lots of elbow grease?

Castrol Superclean (from an automotive parts store or Kmart) with a small stiff
brush will clean it, but its pretty strong. Wear gloves for sure, and goggles if
you can. Its claim to be non toxic stretchs my considerable credulity to the
elastic limit! This stuff is the only thing I've found that will disolve spider
poop without pitting the gel coat. Rinse liberally with mild soapy water.

The best thing to do is just remove it. After that I used a west products filler
and filled any voids in the edge. I then took a good oil base white paint and
touched up any spots that wern't white and that was the end of my cleaning over
two years ago. I may have had a lot of work cleaning the area after removing the
edging but it was worth it.
