Water Tank Monitor

Has anyone come up with a simple, and maybe even inexpensive, way to remotely
monitor the levels of the water tank?
Thanks!!!

I have a tank monitor by Raritan, externally mounted on my water tank...works
fine, I now have to develop access to the holding tanks to mount the monitors on
them. A spring project.

I found a water level monitor used in RV's at
http://www.rvelectronics.com.au/water.html
It's in Australia, but the cost, including postage, is only about $30.00 US

I've ordered it and will post the results of the installation on the Board.

I had a Tank Watch 4 installed at PDQ in the holding tank and one water tank

Factory cost $990. Not cheap but it works well. I was interested in one of those
externaly mounted types but PDQ talked me out of it as they had no history of
it's effectiveness.

PDQ installed a Acu-Gauge tank monitor for water tank and holding tank. The
gauge works well for the water but we have had problems with the holding tank

The rod that moniters the level get "cruded up" and then measures the highest
level. Would you send me Johnson's email as he indicated that he had good
results. I need to know what he puts in the holding tank to get it to work

Thanks

I use a Tankwatch 4, which reports four levels of fullness, for the holding
tank, but I haven't put one in either of the water tanks (when I have to switch
to secondary water tank I know it's time to think about reloading). The
Tankwatch system has worked well for 2.5 years so far- I think it costs about
225-250 from West Marine.
