Filling the gas tank
Filling the gas tank
I've searched the archives and almost found my answer, but not quite. We are closing on our PDQ 36 in two days and I have a very important question. I notice that the gas tank vent is situated lower than the fill. My question is, do you fill the tank until the shut of on the pump shuts of or by that time is the gas pouring out the vent line into the water? Sure don't want to test my insurance fuel spill clause so soon. What is the correct way to fill the tanks on the PDQ 36?
Re: Filling the gas tank
Is there a Lifeguard trap on the vent? There was on my 32.

Re: Filling the gas tank
Thanks for the info, I'll check when we make it down to the boat. Did you find the lifeguard trap worthwhile?
Re: Filling the gas tank
So far, no overflows. But mostly I can hear it coming.
It also keeps gas out of the vent drier.
