Bahamas Tel Cell Phone Service

We're heading to the Bahamas in a few days from FL. We've got an unlocked phone that we used a few years ago while in the Bahamas. How is their service now and what plans would people recommend. we used mrsimcard years ago. the advantage you get from him is that your phone is working the minute you get near a tower without going in to get a simcard. we are out of date on the current cellphone market.
