9.9 Yahama
We want to carry a 3rd Yahama. Does anyone else have a 3rd outboard and where do you store it?

When I carry a 3rd Yamaha, I keep it wrapped and tied on the port side lying down near the stanchions just forward of the cockpit since we never seem to step there.
My next plan if possible, would be to use it as a dinghy engine, and rig the 3rd Yamaha with a pull starter, while keeping the electrical halter connections, in the event I needed to replace one of the main engines. It would allow me to keep common spares, take advantage of my knowledge with this engine, and allow for quick borrowing of an entire working component and make repairs later.

It is possible to use a long shaft engine on some dinghys. I have a Caribe 10' RIB. I had an alum. extension made to raise the transom 5 inches. It fits over the original in a slot manner. This results in the prop being at the proper depth. Looks strange. sitting up high but it works. Ed
