What was the last PDQ 36 made?
Hi Folks,
Diana and I own 2001 PDQ 36 LRC (diesels) hull number 36090. I know she wasn't the last one made .... but it was close! [smile]
Anyone know the last hull number for the Capellas?
We're selling Semi-Local now and are just wondering.
Thanks,
Mark

Re: What was the last PDQ 36 made?
I thought I remembered 36099 being the last hull number produced but the latest database I have from PDQ (which is not necessarily completely up to date) is 36097.

You have any idea when hull 36097 was laid or delivered?

Check out the post called "No More 36???" in the forum. About 3rd down is a post from Passage Back which appears to be hull #36099. Try a message there and see if you can get delivery dates.

Gosh! $285K for an outboard model with little gear? I hope that helps our $199K look attractive

It might make yours look better, but the discerning eye will notice that its an "Express," which is actually a quite different and unique boat. The rig is 30% larger, the weight is 30% less, it has no keels, but does have a dagger board. I'm a bit surprised it has "twin gas" since I thought it was made with one engine - perhaps the owner needed more maneuverability more than the weight saving. If this really is an Express, it could well be worth the premium.Semi-Local wrote:Gosh! $285K for an outboard model with little gear? I hope that helps our $199K look attractive

Hey Jeff,
I think PDQs make GREAT cruising cats. If I was looking for performance, I'd look elsewhere ... probably adding one more hull ... and at a really different price point!
Best,
Mark

Re: What was the last PDQ 36 made?
I went crazy when I saw the express on yachtworld, and flew down to look at her. I THOUGHT the express was the Daggerboard boat built for racing that Simon's brother, David Slater now owns, but I was disappointed. She is a very nice looking PDQ 36 with fixed keels. She looks brand new, and smells it too. But no boards, sob! Six hundred dollar last minute trip down the tubes.
I gave the boat a very thorough examination, and realized that she was the penultimate PDQ 36, with every little tweak and refinement in the history of the model. Somebody is going to get a pretty fine cat.

Sandy
You know "there can only be one" (name the movie sandy).
Intersting bit of news though. David may be considering a move up to larger more comfortable offshore boat.
The one and only express cruiser MAY be on the market in a while.
Wayne Gretzky's number 99 was our last 36. Davids is 97.
I believe the 32's ended at 58?
The 42/44 were ended at 25.
the 34's at 114 (115 is being completed privately)
and the 41's at 11

I think the last 32 was hull 51 which is currently for sale on Yacht World.
