I posted the results of my informal PDQ vs. Gemini experience but it's buried further down the list. I'm looking to buy a tall rig PDQ 32 with twin outboards.

PDQ CHANGED TO THE TALL RIG TO IMPROVE LIGHT AIR PERFORMANCE. THE EXTRA SAIL HAS TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE.
THE TALL RIG IS 49'. I MADE IT UNDER THE FAMOUS RAILROAD BRIDGE BUT I HAD TO TAKE EVERYTHING OFF THE TOP OF THE MAST. IF YOU CAN BELIEVE IT THE U BOLT FOR THE SPINNAKER THAT GOES THROUGH THE TOP PLATE OF THE MAST TOUCHED THE BRIDGE. WE MADE IT AND IT WAS WORTH NOT HAVING TO GO AROUND

Have you checked the yacht world web site? There are 9 for sale, 3 on the east coast. Also on this site Chris Randolph announced his is for sale. I saw his at the factory being built,it is hull47. I recall a comment by Mike Houghton of Sail Abaco on this site or a PDQ newsletter where he said he had sailed both rigs and noticed no difference with the taller rig. I also remember seeing a comment that the taller rig would not pass under the bridge on the Occachobee (have no clue how to spell this)waterway in case you want to crose Florida.

I think I'd like the taller rig (506 square feet of sail area vs. 433). Can anyone speak to the performance difference?
Thanks,
Tim
