Just bought a PDQ 32 Altair (Hull 32-029)
Hi All... Just bought a PDQ 32 Altair (Hull 32-029) on SF Bay. While I was looking at Cats, I frequented this forum and found the information very useful and it helped me ultimately decide on the PDQ. I look forward to being a contributing member as I get to know my new boat. For those who might know her, her name was Duet, but I have renamed her "Rehydrator". I am really excited about the boat and have plans to sail her all around the Bay and Delta... excellent shakedown period so that I can head out the gate and turn left in a couple years! The newbe, Matt Martell

Welcome aboard! PDQs are a rare commodity on the West Coast, but you will find a wealth of good (and not so good) advice here. Don't hesitate to ask any questions that come up as you get intimate with your 32. You will find it is a durable, fine sailing choice that is easy to maintain, with very few trouble spots. Many 32s have stayed with their captains for a remarkably long time.

Congradulations! As Page 83 stated, they are solid and dependable. However, there are issues, and our blogs are full of our success in dealling with those traits... and our failures.

Welcome aboard,
I've done a little sailing up there, loved the trip up the Delta (always wanted to get to Suison bay but never made it). Really enjoyed anchoring out by Margaritaville in Sausalito, and the trip across the potato patch and down to Monterey and Santa Cruz. Lots of info and good folks on this site...

Congrats!
We bought our 32 in San Diego two years ago and now have her in Mexico.
Does your left turn mean you are headed south of the border some day?

Re: Just bought a PDQ 32 Altair (Hull 32-029)
Thanks to everyone for welcoming me to the family.
Picked up the boat last weekend in Tiburon and spent the weekend with her at Marin YC... she is everything I thought she would be and I am having fun getting to know her. She is now in her home birth at Coyote Point Marina, San Mateo CA. (12 miles south of SF on the Bay). Have a great slip and will be heading there to see her shortly.
As for my turning left comment, yes... I eventually I will be taking her to Mexico, but that is at least a year away.
Thanks again everyone!
