Rubrail

I have a small section of damaged rubrail maybe 18 inches long that I'd like to repair. I contacted Taco Metals as per Simon and was told to call West Marine. The folks at West Marine informed me that I that the shortest section they could sell me was 34ft. long and $800.00. I really don't need all that rubrail and thought I'd throw this out there to see if anyone had a better idea. Thanks Jim

Check out the recyled used marine gear / marine salvage stores -- the guys that sell used boat stuff on consignment. They typically have an array of odd things like short sections of rub rails for sell.

Here are some websites -- you can email them to see if they have what you need. Good luck, Ed

hey Ed, while I got you on the line I noticed that you fabricated a rear bench using invacare products (very innovative). Do you recall the part name or number and are there any photos? Thanks Jim

Re: Rubrail - Did you ever find any of the Sailing Toerail?

J,
Did you ever have any success locating a piece of the TACO Marine rub/toe rail? I need about 16' and don't want to buy a full 34' section either. I'm going to be checking around the Annapolis area for sources. Thanks to your post, I saw that the material is still available.

Let me know how your search worked out...

Hey Mike, I ended up spending the money and ordered the 34 ft. section from Taco Metals. I used 16 ft. of it and gave the rest away, sorry.
