Does anyone know where I can purchase replacement door cassettes for the four doors on the inside of a 1994 PDQ 36? ? I have two that have gone bad in the last 2 months and I have not a clue as to where to look. Any ideas are appreciated. Thanks.

Regards,
Tom

OK...... I hope I'm not the only sailor with this question. What is a door cassette?

If it's anything like a house sliding door I would guess it's the wheel set mouted in individual frames.

Just a guess; is that weasel-speak for the latch mechanism? Like the door knob and the moving bolt thingy?

You are REALLY back on Island time Tom!

All,

The door cassette is the mechanism that actually houses the latch assembly once you remove both handles, the two face plates, the plastic washers and then the control rod. Once you have that piece in your hands, you can see that it resembles a old micro cassette, which I am guessing is where then name comes from.

In case that description didn't work, I will rephrase.

Does anyone know where I can find a couple of replacement spring loaded, door-latch catch mechanism do-dads? Thanks in advance. :)

Tom - I hate to tell you this, but I could only find it at West Marine and it was pricy (over $80.00 as I recall). Good Luck.
