Shrouds/mainsail rubbing


As a new owner, I'm finally getting a chance to do some sailing. I've noticed, even on a beam reach, the main is up against the shrouds a fair amount of time. Has anyone found a way to reduce the potential wear with sail patches, etc?

Just narrow patches over the battens. Not a big deal.

Using the traveler should help keep it to a minimum.
