Classic Port Engine Battery Setup

Good Morning Y'all,
Here are some pics of the existing wires for the port battery setup...maybe.
There are the two 6 AWG wires that attach to the Blue Sea 7100 50 amp breaker.
Laying on the bottom of that Port cabinet is this 4 AWG wire labeled 'Port Batt Negative'.
Under the Helm, this buss bar has each of the negative wires from the Port cabinet attached. There does not seem to be a terminal strip between them. There is no other connection to negative/ground either.
Each of the engines has at least 9 feet of battery cable.
Currently, there are two batteries, one for starting each engine. I would like to return to the original one battery for two engines plan.
What do you think?
