Hose From Heat Exchanger to Turbo on 75 hp Yanmar

There's a short hose between the HeatEx and the Turbo on the 75 hp Yanmars. Both my hoses are kinked on the under-side, and I'm getting ready to replace them. The hose is off-set, which looks like it could be contributing to the kink.

Mastry Engine Center says that there's not a factory hose available. My next stop is a hose shop. Has anyone dealt with this before? I'm Hull # 29. Thanks !

Mike,

I have the 75's and they both have the hose to the turbocharger with the offset. I just checked them and neither has a kink. They are probably original. They both have the braided line on the outside like the second picture of yours. I realize a kink would probably shorten the life of the hose but if it only reduced the flow a little, I don't think it would be a big deal. The coolant return hose comes off the bottom of the turbo and is only about a 1/4 in hose.

By the way, I thought I would mention what a fine last name you have.

Alan

Mike,

I have the 75s with one original hose and it has a very slight kink. I was not surprised as the hose it short and offset, as you know. I replaced one and just used good quality marine hose. I have no idea about specifics at this point. It, too, has a slight kink.
