bow running lights
Anyone know the brand and model for the port and starboard LED running lights on the bow of a 34' 2006 PDQ and where to get replacements?

Re: bow running lights
At the factory we installed Perko incandescent model 0955DP0CHR bow lights on the 34's. If you have LED's now then the originals have already been swapped out. I would stay away from all things Perko as their "sealed" LED light fixture take on water, the lens will not fit into the cheaply chromed housing, and the housing gasket is made too small to fit properly. Aqua signal series 33 or 34 LED's seem to hold up well and will cover the old mount holes.

James,
Great info and suggestion! Our PERKO Port LED bow light has water in it. I'll look into the Aqua series. Thanks!
Anyone else have water leak issues with their PERKO nav lights?
PS: Were you part of the team that built the original PDQ's?

Re: bow running lights
Yes I was with PDQ for 16 years, and my wife Jackie and I would travel around handling warranty, moving boats around, and working boat shows. We still spend our winters in Florida helping out with the fleet.
Glad to help out.

Great to know you are out there, James. As someone knew to owning a PDQ Powercat, I suspect I've got a lot to learn from you.

There's only two Powercats here in the Bellingham area (North Puget Sound). I'm surprised there aren't more. It's a perfect boat for island hopping around here.

Re: bow running lights
I second that Perko products seem to be inferior.

Re: bow running lights
Like James said, the Aqua Signal seems like a better product. I have not bought one for the PDQ yet, however.

Re: bow running lights
When I checked out Aqua Signal's bow lights, I found feedback saying the plastic units were cheap looking, poorly built and did not seat properly. At this point, I'm going to stay with the Perko lights I have since they work. I did drill a tiny air hole in the back of the starboard light to see if that might help reduce the moisture inside it. And I caulked both light pretty thoroughly.
